It all started back in the day, in 1954 in a tiny workshop on via Cavour in the small town of Cambiago, just east of the great Italian City of Milan. That’s where the great Ernesto Colnago began his career as a bicycle builder. Since then, his bicycles have been ridden by more than one hundred professional cycling teams, with well over 2,000 cyclists racing on Colnago bicycles to more than 6,000 professional wins and counting.
Born in 1932, Colnago began his career as an apprentice bicycle mechanic at twelve years old and hasn’t looked back since! Cycling champions such as Eddy Merckx, Giuseppe Sarroni, Gianni Bugno, Tony Rominger, Joop Zoetmelk, Moreno Argentin and Roger DeVlaeminck just to name a few who have raced and won World, Olympic, and every other important discipline on Colnago bicycles over the years.
