Maxxis is an example of a company that started small and grew through its commitment to creating great products that fulfilled a genuine need and on which customers could rely.  Founded in 1967, the customers who discovered Maxxis in their youth are often still with the company today – and passing on their appreciation of it to their children and grandchildren.

Bicycle tyres were the product that set Maxxis on its road to success.  The company, which began as a small Taiwanese start-up producing bicycle tyres, eventually grew to become the biggest manufacturer of bicycle tyres in the world – which it still is today.  In addition to its loyal base of individual customers, Maxxis counts some of the biggest names in cycling manufacturers amongst its clients.  These include Cannondale, Giant, Merida, Yeti, Iron Horse, Kona and Orange.  Over the course of the last half century, Maxxis branched out into tyres for other applications (such as tyres for motorcycles, cars, 4x4s, light trucks, trucks and buses, ATVs, lawn and garden products, race karts, industrial vehicles and trailers) and is now a major figure in all of these industries, supplying many leading manufacturers.

Although Maxxis is understandably proud of its achievements, it has never been one to rest on its laurels.  Maxxis believes that the foundation of its success has been the fact that it has always sought to give its customers the best possible products and the best possible value and that this has been enabled by its focus on technology and its heavy investment in research and development.  Maxxis now has a total of five research centres in four countries as well as its own private test track in China, which it sees as being crucial to ensuring that its products can stand up to whatever the real world throws at them.  You can discover what Maxxis has to offer at BikeZaar.com.
