Nutrition – Cycling nutrition is specific to cycling and has been developed with that in mind. Energy, recovery, electrolytes and supplements aid in keeping your body strong and maintain sufficient levels of energy to get you through rides and races.
Energy – Energy drinks are designed to replenish your carbohydrate stores and electrolytes during exercise. Energy drink is taken whilst training or racing and helps to keep your energy levels constant to you do not fall short of carb stores and end up bonking. Energy supplement is mixed with water and each brand will advise on the amount of drink to consume per hour in order to keep these carb stores constant.
Recovery – Recovery drink or recovery bars are used to help replenish carbohydrate stores and repair damaged muscle tissue. Carbohydrate and protein mixes help in the recovery process and help to make you stronger after damaging the muscles.
